Jakarta Education Dept (Disdik) has a plan to implement reading program which demanded students from elementary to high school to read for 15 minutes in order to enhance their interest in reading.

Jakarta Disdik's Junior High School and Senior High School Section Head, Syaefuloh stated, his side cooperates with National Library in implementing this program.

After governor's decision has been issued, he continued, all public and private schools in Jakarta must require students to read books for 15 minutes before school activity begin.
"We expect to enhance human resources' quality in Jakarta by encouraging them to read a lot," he stated.
